ASCAP & BMI
To check if a song is ASCAP or BMI, please use the sites below.
https://www.ascap.com/repertory#/
When looking for songs, the writers/publishers must be either ASCAP, BMI, or NS(no society). It could be a mix of ASCAP/BMI/NS. We don’t have rights for other organizations, but these two should cover the majority. If it says it’s 100% controlled by ASCAP or BMI, it’s also OK to use.
If a song says 100% controlled by ASCAP or BMI but also lists a different affiliation, it’s OK.
For example – you’ll see Beauty & the Beast is 50% ASCAP 50% BMI, but it’s OK to use.
